The second release via cult label Goo Records (Jopy, Welly, Canned Pineapple), ‘Mona’ brings their idiosyncratic and jangly blend of indie-rock and Americana to endearing new heights. Following on from February release ‘Great British Pig’, ‘Mona’ is its brighter counterpart, going straight for the jugular with glowing harmonies and vibrant choruses. Defined by Lou Reed-esque spoken word of guitarist/vocalist Tom Cotter and the soaring vocal interplay of Sophie Moloney and Lola Gordon, it’s a track that remains lovingly held together by its boundless charms and unabashed vulnerabilities.
