Full Cold Moon:

Full Cold Moon is a collection of EPs originally released throughout 2014, now reissued on heavyweight 180-gram 12" vinyl by Heartworm Press. More than a compilation, it’s a document of transition — a period where Cold Cave stretched their sound across a spectrum of isolation and intensity.

The release features A Little Death to Laugh, Oceans With No End, God Made the World, Black Boots, and Nausea, the Earth and Me. From guitar-laced synth anthems to stripped-down cold wave minimalism, to late night dystopia spin out, these recordings capture a time of sonic exploration and restless reinvention — including the band’s unlikely underground favorite “A Little Death to Laugh.”

Written during Wesley Eisold’s relocation from New York to Los Angeles — a time marked by introspection and distance from the grander scope of Cherish The Light Years — these twelve tracks return to the stark and solitary spirit of Cremations and Love Comes Close. Minimal yet magnetic, Full Cold Moon is Cold Cave at its most experimental, essential, and emotionally raw.

Love Comes Close:

Love Comes Close is the debut full-length from Cold Cave — a record born of late nights, second-hand synths, and the quiet urgency of DIY bedroom recordings. Written and recorded in Philadelphia between 2008 and 2009, it was first released on Heartworm Press and later reissued by Matador Records, just as the band began its slow rise into cult territory.

These are dark pop songs for the solitary and the searching — fragile, romantic, and glimmering with cold light. With nods to the early experiments of The Human League, Throbbing Gristle, and New Order, the album merges goth undercurrents with indie charm and loft-born synth-pop. Eisold’s vocals are at once distant and intimate — poetic, vulnerable, and cutting through the haze.

From the aching pulse of the title track to the enduring live staples “Life Magazine,” “Heaven Was Full,” and “Youth and Lust,” Love Comes Close captures that rare moment when isolation gives way to connection, and simplicity meets emotional weight.

Cherish The Light Years:

Released in 2010 on Matador Records, Cherish The Light Years is Cold Cave’s bold leap into dark stadium pop — an album where post-punk intensity collides with melodic noise, industrial beats, Italo dance euphoria, and moments of pure pop bliss.

Recorded at Electric Lady and DFA’s Plantain Studios in NYC, Cherish channels the drama of Siouxsie and the Banshees, the pulse of early Depeche Mode, and the emotional gravity of love, regret, triumph, and failure. With tracks like “Confetti,” “The Great Pan Is Dead,” “Underworld USA,” and “Villains of the Moon,” Cold Cave emerged in a moment with no obvious scene, forging a sound and space entirely their own.
